Preserving Our River, Protecting Our Future

Welcome to SaveKarnaphuli! We are a nonprofit group working hard to protect and restore the Karnaphuli River in Chattogram. Our main goal is to keep this important river healthy for future generations. We do this by using eco-friendly methods, involving local communities, and teaching people about how to take care of the river and its surroundings. We also work to reduce pollution and promote sustainable practices that help maintain the river’s natural beauty. By supporting local projects and advocating for better environmental policies, we strive to make a lasting impact. Together, we can ensure that the Karnaphuli River continues to thrive and support the lives that depend on it. Join us in our mission to save the Karnaphuli River and create a better future for all.

Mission

  • Protect and Restore: We work to cut pollution, fix damaged habitats, and encourage green practices along the Karnaphuli River.

  • Educate and Engage: We teach people about environmental issues and involve them in river conservation through programs and events.

  • Advocate for Change: We team up with local leaders, businesses, and others to push for rules that protect the river and support sustainable growth.

  • Community Involvement: We get local people involved in our projects and listen to their ideas on how to care for the river.

River Clean-Up Initiatives

We organize regular clean-up events to remove trash and debris from the Karnaphuli River and its banks. These efforts not only improve the river’s health but also raise awareness about the importance of keeping our waterways clean.

Reforestation Programs

Our reforestation projects aim to restore native vegetation along the riverbanks, preventing soil erosion, improving water quality, and providing habitat for local wildlife. Join us in planting trees and revitalizing our environment.

Community Education

Education is key to long-term change. We conduct workshops, seminars, and school programs to teach community members, especially young people, about the importance of environmental conservation and sustainable living practices.
